National Gardening Show

This gardening event takes place at the Royal Bath & West Showground in Somerset, in September. We came on board to relaunch and rebrand the show three years ago.

This involved developing new initiatives and securing media coverage to attract a broader audience. We positioned the show as the definitive gardening event in the South West, broadening its appeal to include a national audience – a proposition strengthened by the fact that it showcases the finest in autumn gardening.

Whilst working closely with the show team to develop new features, we have also fully exploited exciting show highlights which appeal to the media – for instance, the quirky UK National Giant Vegetables Championships. The food related features and the National Dahlia Show are amongst the other key initiatives we promote via the PR campaign each year.

In terms of new show initiatives created by us, we were most proud of the special reception we held for the launch of the Jubilee Garden Project. The project involved creating a rehabilitation garden at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre. To mark the launch, we held a special reception for VIP guests drawn from the horticultural world and high profile supporters of the cause.

We were also proud of the Bright Green Shoots feature we created, designed to showcase entrepreneurs who are making their name in the horticulture world with their gardening skills and creative flair. They are selected by Jo Thompson, one of the country’s rising stars in garden design.

The show is now on its way to becoming a key UK gardening event and our media campaign has resulted in national coverage, helping to bring a new national audience to the show.
